For the tech-savvy individual, the Samsung Galaxy S7  is by far the most sought smartphone in the market today. It is the predecessor to the Samsung S6 Edge, which won the Gadget of the Year 2015 award. Following the success of the latter, it also ranked first in the Top 10 best smartphones by www.stuff.tv/ top-10/smartphones.
The long been awaited smartphone was launched last February 2016 and to the astonishment of the customers, it is now bigger and a lot sleeker when compared to Apple’s iPhone 6s. It becomes handier, given its smooth and glossy texture plus a  dual camera better than the Nexus XP, every owner will never get their hands out of it.
The experience will never be the same again given the idea that it has a 5.50-inch touchscreen display and a screen resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels at a PPI of  534 pixels per inch. The SG S7  is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core with a 4GB RAM. Add to that a 32 GB internal memory storage that can be enhanced to a whopping 200 GB upon inserting a micro SD card.
You will never run out of saving all your memories on your smartphone again provided that it boasts of its 12-megapixel rear primary camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for taking your very own images. It runs on Android version 6.0 and just like its close competitor, has a non-removable battery, giving it an extra power of 3600mAh. The dimension also comes in at 150.90 x 72.60 x 7.70 (i.e. height, width, and thickness), and a weight of 157 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 has a dual GSM Subscriber’s Individual Module (SIM) and connection tested capabilities for Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth etc. Misplacing your phone within your home will never be a problem with the additional features of the proximity sensor, together with an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope.
On the other side, comes its very close opponent in the industry which is the Apple iPhone 6s/7 smartphone. Unlike the SG S7, it was launched September last year as the predecessor of the famous and talked about iPhone6. The phone has a 4.70 touchscreen display and a screen resolution of 750 pixels by 1334 pixels at a PPI of 326 pixels per inch.
It is powered by an A9 processor with a Random Access Memory of  2GB and an internal storage of 16 GB which is built-in and cannot be expanded. The camera features are just similar to the SG S7. It runs on iOS 9 and is powered by a 1715mAh non-removable battery. The phone’s dimension is 138.30 x 67.10 x 7.10 and weighs at 143 grams. It has a single SIM and an also has wireless connection capabilities.
It is not clear though what will make the difference, since it is yet to be launched come September of the current year, and Samsung is taking this as an edge in the competitive market of telecommunications. One thing that creates a curious inquiry on Apple is the placement of the slash symbol between the existing phone model and the one that is upcoming this year (e.g. iPhone 6s/7). As proof, this format has appeared when you use Google Search and other search engines. Whatever the reason there may be, techies and gizmos-loving citizens can only wait and see.
We now come to the moment of truth. Based on the general features and technical descriptions of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Apple iPhone6s/7, we can conclude that both of them are beautifully made and are loyally patronized by people all around the globe. But, in the world of business, there has to be only one brand that earns the top spot, based on several significant factors.

The question now is: How are we going to go about it? It has to be a fair or impartial assessment, so as not to be biased of some sort. It’s not only the numbers who will speak for itself but on where these numbers came from. Obviously, the answer has to be the product reviews from people who believed in either true or bluff company promises.
Primarily, the curious buyer will normally ask, “How much…?” Smartphones vary in prizes depending on what kind of model and the year it is launched into the market. It is to be understood that those recently introduced are considered as new models and surely have expensive price tags.
Much to our surprise, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is more affordable at $650 to $690  respectively, while the Apple iPhone 6s is pegged at $749, $849 and $949. Given the fact that the former was six months ahead on its product launch before the anticipated comeback of the latter in 2016, clearly would send a feeler on what should customers choose or patronize.
It can be recalled that in the past, Apple was always on the front line with respect to producing famous and unique smartphones for the world. The legacy of their company has continuously spread not only by word of mouth but also through mass media of any sort. This is telling us that many years before, they are indeed untouchable and unfazed.
For now, because of the turn of events, Apple has met its counterpart. The position now of Samsung is at the edge because they have created a phone with more advanced features, a totally surprising phone modification and a competitive price for users around the world. There is yet a lot in store for the would-be buyers in the coming days. Indeed, life is like a wheel, sometimes you’re on a pedestal and surprisingly, you see yourself far beneath the nose of others. People from  Apple are not at all worried about turning the tables down because primarily, they consider this event as normal in the business world.
Aside from the price factor, we look into the design and display of both phones. The Samsung Galaxy S7 has a glass and a metallic frame chassis with an IP68 rating that protects the precious phone from getting damaged because of water and dust. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 6s has a full metallic body but its chassis doesn’t have this feature, making it prone to dust and water contact.
In addition, the iPhone 6s is endowed with an IPS LED back-lit LCD screen of 5.5 inches that gives a full high definition resolution. The pixel count is 401 PPI. The Samsung Galaxy S7 offers a much better screen-to-body ratio of 72.1 percent than the iPhone 6s that offers a 67.7 percent ratio.
Likewise, both phones require users to access it using fingerprints. However, only the SG S7 has health sensors like the heart rate and SpO2. Such sensors are not available on the iPhone 6. Another feature that is available for SG S7 is for faster internet connectivity. It utilizes a Cat. 9 LTE modem versus the iPhone’s  Cat.6 modem; telling users that Samsung is reliable for faster browsing speed rather than Apple. Most of all, the Samsung Gear VR headset gives the user a virtual reality experience that again, is not supported by the Apple iPhone 6.
Moreover, we go into one of the most interesting features of the SG S7 and the Apple iPhone6s. Both phones have a dual-band 11ac Wi-Fi, however, battery usage and charging have become the issue that makes a distinction between this two smartphones. The iPhone 6 has a smaller battery compared to the SG S7, making it faster to drain when mobile data is turned on. Meaning, charging the Apple iPhone is required as compared to the Samsung Galaxy’s unique feature of charging the phone wirelessly.

Much has been said about the two giant smartphones and giving more technical comparison will still yield favorable results to only one of the subjects. Before finally giving on the verdict, we base our repositioning on the ranking of smartphones in the market. After a lot of research and comparison, it was found out that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which is the newer version of the SG S7 ranks first over other 11 smartphones worldwide. The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes second in the list and iPhone6 and iPhone 6s edge ranked 5th and 6th respectively. (see: http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/20-best-mobile-phones-in-the-world-today-645440 )
After carefully reviewing vital information on both smartphones, we give the win to the Samsung Galaxy S7 over the Apple iPhone 6s.
This repositioning is done for reference and educational purposes only. In the coming months, it is inevitable that there would be a lot of changes in how people will perceive the results. This can be considered reliable as of the moment but temporary in nature and in scope. For this repositioning to constantly maintain its spot, it is imperative that Samsung must and should follow the following suggestions:
1.      Since the Samsung Galaxy S7 is still very enticing to the public, they must not be comfortable in their advanced position,  but rather, make a random quality control check again on a certain batch of their smartphones so that whatever glitch, technical error, and factory defect can and will be checked and addressed immediately while it is still too early. This will prevent users or subscribers from making negative reviews online or by any means.
2.      There should be a 24/7 customer service representative or a hotline communication system to address the concerns of the users or subscribers in case there are events of malfunction, software error and other highly technical problems encountered by the customer while using his phone.
·         The main objective of the strategies is to maintain the trust and confidence of the users and subscribers in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and its future products and services.
·         The positioning strategy reflects the idea that Samsung will constantly adhere to the quality and marketing  standards of manufacturing smartphones in order to satisfy future subscribers or customers
·         Finally, with the use of the Internet and social media together with print and broadcast mediums of communication, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will maintain its top spot in the world of smartphones.
